I want to drop some knowledge on you real quick.
This is a short lesson, but it’s arguably one of the most powerful ones you’ll ever learn.
While listening to an entrepreneurship seminar, the speaker (whose name escapes me right now) said something that stuck with me.
I remembered it then, wrote it down, and it’s been on my bathroom mirror ever since. Now I’m going to share it with you. Keep it near and dear to your heart, as it’s going to motivate you every time you look at it.
Here it is:
Life doesn’t give you what you want. Life gives you what you deserve.
(Disclaimer: Tragedies are a part of life, and we don’t always deserve those. That’s not what this quote is about.)
When you think about your life and you think about your body, are you happy? If not, who or what do you blame? If it’s anybody but the person you see looking back at you in the mirror – you’re making a mistake.
Accountability is the first step towards success. When you can take responsibility for the state of things – when you can truly realize that your body looks the way it does because you simply haven’t had the drive to do something about it – THEN you can begin to make positive steps towards having what you want.
Blaming other people for your own failures gets you nowhere. It simply helps you salvage your self-esteem so you don’t truly see that YOU are your own worst enemy.
Look past this. See yourself for who you are. Do you like what you see?
Now you know whose fault that is. Figure out how you can fix those things. Do something about it. The time isn’t 10 years from now, the time isn’t 10 days from now or 10 minutes from now. The time is right now. Get up and make it happen.
In life, not everybody deserves a supermodel body, or a movie star body, or a pro athlete’s body. They’re so admired because they’re so hard to get – but you SHOULD know that you CAN have that body if you deserve to have it, and you deserve to have it if you put forth the time and effort it takes to get it.
Post the quote above on your bathroom mirror. Every time you look at yourself, you’ll see this quote. You might see your worst enemy who holds you back from what you want. You might see your best friend who actively works to make your life better.
