Get back on track. Motivation for a Monday morning.
on Sunday, June 7, 2009in Help & Motivation
Happy Monday everyone! I hope your weekend was filled with friends, family and lots of fun!Weekends can be a challenge when it comes to following a healthy eating plan and scheduling in our workout routines. That’s why I like to think of Mondays as a new beginning, a fresh start, a do-over of sorts.
Perhaps you’ve spent the last couple of days indulging in a bit too much edible entertainment or sipping on a few too many ‘Wobbly pops’ while abandoning your commitment to the gym. Not to worry, it happens to the best of us. Now it’s time to pick yourself up, dust yourself off and revive your pursuit of a healthy body weight and a flat belly.
The first thing you need to do is take stock of your thoughts. Are you focused on what you can’t do, didn’t do or won’t do? Stop it. In order to change your body, you’ve got to change your brain first. Instead of focusing on the negative, think about the positive. Start your sentences with “I can”, “I will”, “I am”. Look ahead at what’s in front of you and what you can accomplish as opposed to what you could’ve, would’ve or should’ve done this past weekend. We are all human and we all mess up once in awhile. Accept that there will be bumps in the road. Reminding yourself to stay positive will make it much easier to straighten out when you’ve taken a wrong turn.
