Body Raise, Hanging

Type: Abs
The hanging body raise is an advanced exercise for developing the abs, and is performed by hanging from a bar and lifting the full body overhead. This exercise will develop upper body & abdominal strength. Below you'll find a video guide and step by step instructions that describes the correct technique for the hanging body raise exercise.

Body Raise, Hanging Steps:

Step 1:
Hang from a pull up bar with hands in the neutral position

Step 2:
With a slight bend in the knees, flex at the hips to raise the legs to waist height

Step 3:
At this point, tip the upper body backwards so it's parallel to the ground

Step 4:
Legs will be pointing towards the ceiling

Step 5:
Straighten the knees & point the toes to the ceiling

Step 6:
Return to the start position

Step 7:
This is one repetition
