The Static Hold Crunch is an effective exercise for strengthening and developing the abdominals. If you are finding regular crunches too easy, this exercise will make you feel the burn. Below you will find a video tutorial and step by step instruction on how to perform the Static Hold Crunch.

Crunch, Static Hold Steps:

Step 1:
Lie flat on the floor with the knees slightly bent and your feet on the floor

Step 2:
Raise your shoulders off the floor, crunching your rib cage towards your pelvis

Step 3:
Keep your lower back grounded and look at a stationary target on the ceiling to avoid strain on the neck

Step 4:
Hold the contraction for a period of 2-3 seconds

Step 5:
Lower your shoulders back to the start position
