The plank or bridge as its otherwise known is one of the best exercises for developing strong core abdominal muscles. If your goal is to get six pack abs, then the plank exercise is definitely one to include in your workout routine. There are several variations of plank exercises and the forearm version is probably one of the most popular. Below you'll find a video guide and step by step instructions that describe the correct technique for the plank bridge abdominal exercise.

Plank, Bridge, Forearm Steps:

Step 1:
Lie face down on a gym mat with elbows and forearms flat on the mat.

Step 2:
Raise the trunk, thighs & knees off the floor so the body is supported only by the forearms and tip toes.

Step 3:
Pull in the abdominals tight and keep the pelvis straight.

Step 4:
Maintain a straight back throughout the exercise.

Step 5:
Hold this position for at least 10 seconds or until form begins to fail.
