Tricep Extension, Dumbbell, One Arm |
Type: Arms |
The 1 arm tricep extension is an effective exercise for developing the tricep muscles, and is performed by gripping a dumbbell with one hand, keeping the elbow stationary and extending the elbow to raise the weight. Performing the exercise whilst seated encourages good technique. This is a great isolation exercise for the triceps making each arm work independently. Below you'll find a video guide and step by step instructions that describe the correct technique for the seated dumbbell 1 arm tricep extension exercise.

Tricep Extension, Dumbbell, One Arm Steps:
Take hold of one end of a dumbbell with one hand.
Raise it above your head by extending the arm.
Slowly lower the dumbbell behind your head by flexing at the elbow.
Pause when you feel the stretch in your triceps.
Press the dumbbell back up until your arm is fully extended.
Repeat for the other arm.
Top Tip:This exercise can be performed standing or sitting on a bench or exercise ball. Standing up or sitting on an exercise ball will work the core abdominal muscles harder than sitting on a stable bench.
