Cable Pullover, Straight Arm

Type: Back
The straight arm version of the lat pulldown targets all the major muscles in the back as well as the triceps and to a lesser degree the chest. It requires good core strength to perform the exercise correctly, so beginners should use a light weight to start with and focus on technique.

Cable Pullover, Straight Arm Steps:

Step 1:
Stand in front of a lat pulldown cable machine with a straight bar.

Step 2:
Extend your arms out straight and take hold of the bar with an overhand grip (Palms down).

Step 3:
From shoulder level, pull the bar down to the thighs ensuring your arms remain straight through the movement.

Step 4:
Pause for a second and then slowly return to the start position.

Top Tip:

Wrists should remain straight and don't lock the elbows, keep a slight bend in them. Tense your core throughout the movement to ensure good posture.
