Straight Arm Lat Pulldown |
Type: Back |
This exercise really helps to isolate the lats (the major muscle in the back). You can use it to superset either before or after other back exercises to really exhaust the muscle.

Straight Arm Lat Pulldown Steps:
Stand in front of a high pulley machine fitted with a straight bar
Place your hands on top of the bar with an overhand grip
Stand with feet shoulder width apart and back straight, looking forward
Keeing your arms straight, press the bar down by rotating your shoulders
Continue until the bar is level with your hips
Pause slightly at the bottom and then return slowly to the start position
Top Tip:Start off with a low resistance. It's quite a difficult exercise to master form. All the movement should come from the shoulders. If you are flexing at the elbows or bending your back to help shift the weight, then it's too heavy. Drop it down.
