Chest Dips

Type: Chest
Chest dips are a slight variation on the tricep dip. The correct way of performing a chest dip is to lean further forward to focus more on the chest muscles rather than the shoulders and triceps. Dips are a great exercise to help fatigue the chest muscles and work well as part of a superset with the barbell or dumbbell chest press exercise. Below you'll find a video guide and step by step instructions that demonstrate the correct technique for chest dips.
Level :  Equipment : No
Chest
Back
Shoulders
Triceps

Chest Dips Steps:

Step 1:
Position yourself on a pair of dip bars. Bend your knees and cross your lower legs.

Step 2:
Lower yourself down slowly until your chest is almost touching the dip bar.

Step 3:
Leaning forward into the dip, targets the chest.

Step 4:
The more upright you are, the more you work the shoulders.

Top Tip:

You don't need to dip too far down. Dipping the shoulders lower than the elbows puts unnecessary strain on the shoulder joints.
