Also known as the Roman Deadlift (RDL). The straight leg deadlift is an excellent exercise for strengthening the hamstrings and lower back. This version uses dumbbells.

Deadlift, Dumbbell, Straight Leg Steps:
Stand behind a set of dumbbells on the floor.
|
With feet shoulder width apart, bend at the hips keeping the legs and back straight.
|
Grasp the dumbbells with an overhand grip.
|
Keeping back straight, head facing forwards and with a slight bend in your knees, straighten your hips.
|
Push the hips forward to stand upright so the dumbbells are resting on your thighs.
|
Return the dumbbells to the floor by performing the opposite movement.
|
Top Tip:- Keep the legs straight but don't lock the knees.
