Leg Press Machine |
Type: Legs |
The leg press machine is a great way to enable beginners or even more experienced exercisers to develop strong, powerful muscles in the legs and buttocks. It's a good alternative to the more advanced free weight standing squat exercise, but gaining experience on the machine will help develop the strength required to progress on to free weights.

Leg Press Machine Steps:
Position yourself into the leg press machine with your feet on the foot plate and sitting in the seat.
Adjust the seat so that your knees are bent at 90 degrees. This is the start position.
Position your feet so they are roughly hip width apart.
Select an appropriate weight for the exercise.
Drive against the foot plate with your feet until your legs are straight, but don't lock the knees.
Pause briefly and then gradually return to the start by bending the knees.
