The dumbbell sumo squat is an effective exercise for developing the quads and glutes, and is performed by executing a squat with the legs extremely wide. This squat position specifically works the inner thigh (adductor) muscles as well as quads, hamstrings and glutes. Squat, Dumbbell, Sumo Steps:

Step 1:
Stand up holding a dumbbell at one end with both hands at waist height

Step 2:
Adopt a wide stance & position the feet inline with the knees

Step 3:
Squat by bending at the knees and hips, keeping the back straight

Step 4:
Gradually lower the dumbbell until the thighs are parallel

Step 5:
Return back to the start by pushing the ground away

Step 6:
Keep the chest lifted and back straight at all times

Step 7:
This is one repetition
