The one legged stair squat is an effective exercise for developing the quads and glutes, and is performed by executing a pistol squat on one leg on a stair or gym step. This exercise is very advanced and will required considerable core & leg strength, balance and coordination to perform correctly.

Squat, One Leg Stair Steps:
Stand side on to a low gym bench with one foot on and one foot off the bench
|
Stand up straight and place your arms out in front to acquire your balance
|
Squat by bending the knee of the bench leg whilst keeping the suspended leg straight
|
Squat down until the thigh is below parallel
|
Push back up through the thighs and hips by extending the knee to the start position
|
Maintain balance and strict posture throughout the whole movement
|
Repeat for the opposite leg to complete one set
|
