Arnold Press, Seated

Type: Shoulder
The arnold press is an effective exercise for developing the deltoids, and is performed by pressing overhead while rotating the arms. Performing the exercise whilst seated, encourages good technique. Below you'll find a video guide and step by step instructions that describes the correct technique for the seated arnold press exercise.

Arnold Press, Seated Steps:

Step 1:
Sit on a gym bench holding a dumbbell in each hand at shoulder height

Step 2:
Rotate the hands so the palms are facing behind

Step 3:
Maintain a straight back and look forward

Step 4:
Press the dumbbells overhead whilst simultaneously rotating the forearms

Step 5:
At the end of the movement arms should be straight with palms facing forward

Step 6:
Pause briefly and lower the dumbbells by reversing the movement

Step 7:
This is one repetition
