Power Jerk

The power jerk is an effective exercise for developing explosive power, and is performed by bending the knees, pressing overhead, and dropping under to catch the weight. Below you'll find a video guide and step by step instructions that describes the correct technique for the power jerk exercise.

Power Jerk Steps:

Step 1:
Stand holding a barbell at shoulder height with an overhand grip

Step 2:
Drop into a half squat & drive the barbell over head whilst extending the knees

Step 3:
As the arms are fully extended, bend the knees to drop under the barbell

Step 4:
Stand up straight with arms fully extended and the weight overhead

Step 5:
This is one repetition
