Shoulder Press, Dumbbell, Neutral Grip

The shoulder press is an effective exercise for developing the deltoids, and is performed by pressing overhead, extending the arms. The neutral hand position works different areas of the deltoid muscles and places more emphasis on the triceps. Shoulder Press, Dumbbell, Neutral Grip Steps:

Step 1:
Stand up holding a dumbbell in each hand at shoulder height

Step 2:
Rotate the hands so palms face each other

Step 3:
Feet hip width apart, knees slightly bent

Step 4:
Maintain a straight back and look forwards

Step 5:
Simultaneously press the dumbbells above the head by extending the elbows

Step 6:
Pause briefly and lower the dumbbells back to the start position

Step 7:
This is one repetition
