Hip Stretches

Type: Stretching
The hip stretch targets the hip flexor muscles located in the top of the thigh and the groin. The hip flexors are used to bend the hips and are targeted in exercises such as step ups and lunges. Perform this stretch after your leg workout to relieve tight muscles and help maintain flexibility. Below you'll find a video guide and step by step instructions that describes the correct technique for hip stretches.

Leg Stretching

Hip Stretches Steps:

Step 1:
Position yourself on your knees on a gym mat.

Step 2:
Place one leg forward into a kneeling stride position.

Step 3:
Place the hands on top of the bent knee.

Step 4:
Drop the hips towards the floor and feel the stretch in the groin.

Step 5:
Hold the stretch for 15 to 30 secs.

Step 6:
Repeat for the opposite leg.
