Chair Pose

Chair Pose Steps:

Step 1:
Start in Mountain Pose (Tadasana), standing in the middle of your mat; feet and knees are together and arms at your sides.

Step 2:
Inhale to circle the arms overhead (shoulder distance apart) as you look up towards the hands.

Step 3:
Keeping your back flat and arms overhead, exhale to bend at the knees to lower the hips down towards the ground (hips are always lower than the shoulders but never below the knees).

Step 4:
Hold the posture for 5 to 10 breaths and then return to starting position.

Top Tip:

- Strengthens the ankles, thighs, calves, and spine
- Stretches shoulders and chest
- Stimulates the abdominal organs, diaphragm, and heart
- Reduces flat feet
